We are an IT company and looking to put in a wireless network into various different housing associations around the country. We would like to monitor the networks in each deployment using PRTG.
Is it possible to have the monitoring PC with the PRTG installation in the Cloud to save on costs in having to put in a local PC in each location?
If so, what are the steps and requirements that we would need to implement this please?
Thanks

Yes it is SNMP we want to monitor. we are looking to monitor SNMP on the Access Points within the building in terms of data throughput etc. and also there will be SNMP on the router as well.
would we need some sort of port forwarding etc. setup to access these APs? as of course the APs will be on an internal IP address with 1 External IP Address out to the world.
we would be using a business class router such as a Draytek model which allows port forwarding and open ports.
we wouldnt need a PC on each site then?

You likely need Portforwarding but it's not really possible to say for sure without the details. It comes down to, if you can send SNMP Requests from one PRTG Probe (you could consider only running the Probe in the Cloud, and the PRTG Core in your HQ) and get these SNMP Requests responded from the devices in the remote sites, you won't need a PC there.

Hello,
monitoring the networks in these "remote sites" from one PRTG in the cloud will only be possible if these sites are reachable via SNMP for instance or whatever protocol you wish to use to monitor these. Will that be possible?
best regards.
