I'm using traffic sensors on my Zyxel switches. In the graph below

I was transferring some large files from Server 1 to Server 2, going through 4 switches. I have these sensors set for vertical scaling. Switch 1 and 4 max out at 1000000 kbit/s, and Switch 2 and 3 max out at 500000 kbit/s.

The graphs match up but the speeds do not. And it's not the vertical scaling doing it because if I put switch 2 and 3 to 1000000 kbit/s like the others the graph reduces by half.

Below is the data from the beginning of the file transfer

You can see that the trunk ports between switch 1 and switch 2 show a difference of about half.

So my question is does anyone know why this is happening? Which one is correct? And is it possible to fix?

  • Screenshot of the "Vertical Axis Scaling"
  • Where did you "put switch 2 and 3 to 1000000 kbit/s" in PRTG or your target device?
  • Historic Data from 03.05. 12:10-12:40
