Hey there fellows,
I have a HP ProLiant DL385 G7 which has iLO3, the OS is VMware ESXi5 (the free version).
I'm trying to monitor the hardware info, I'm having difficulty monitoring it, the only sensors that PRTG recommends are
Ping SSL Certificate Sensor (Port 443) SSL Security Check (Port 443)
I tried manually adding SNMP HP ProLiant System Health which is working fine for another system but here it's giving me this error "No response (check: firewalls, routing, snmp settings of device, IPs, SNMP version, community, passwords etc) (SNMP error # -2003)"
I'm monitoring other SNMP devices on this PRTG core the firewall is not blocked,
In the iLO the settings are enabled and pointing to the correct IP address.
is anyone able to help.
Thank You
Levi

Hi there,
Yep, nothing to add here. Without any credentials, PRTG can't monitor anything. :)
You can find them within the device or group settings under "Credentials for VMware/XenServer". Afterwards you can theoretically add the following sensors:

What you want is setting the VMware credentials for the device and adding VMware specific sensors - that would be for the most part able to read the system status via the VMware API(s).

There are links to all you need...
As for you iLO - you would need to configured SNMP monitoring for the iLO - either trapping on the PRTG server or actively requesting the information for the iLO.

Hope that helps you...
