I'd like to be able to add sensors to a library automatically, ideally based on the tags.

I have critical alerts that trigger an out of hours call to a technician, I'd like to be able to define the notification on the library and have the sensors add themselves in when they are tagged as critical.

I don't want a manual process every time I have to add a critical alert into the system. If its not possible to do this with a library, and there is another way to achieve what I am trying to do I am very open to ideas

This is highly needed. PRTG needs to be more dynamic, and require less dedicated time from the I.T. department. The whole point to monitoring is to notify quickly, and give us more time to be taking care of actual problems, and less time sitting there watching to see if there is a problem.

This is why I asked about adding a API to add items to groups. Then I'd be able to have a quick program go through and do this based on criteria like the tag, but if they can do it internally that would work also.

If you build a Library, with node(s) that basically is the entire device tree (or just a group of devices of course), filtered via a certain tag, then the Library will automatically add all new sensors with that tag.
