We are running a SonicWall #7500 running SonicOS Enhanced 5.8.0.2
When I go to add a sensor manually I can see the vlan interfaces on the box (ie X4:56 ). I added it to our PRTG Network Monitor 8.1.1.1696. It adds it without complaining, however after 24 hours there isn't any data showing. It just says No Data, but I know for sure that there is traffic going out and coming in this interface.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply,
I went back to look at the historical data/ 60 seconds. Each row shows nothing. It shows 100% uptime. Are there any tests like a CLI command to see if I'm getting any data at all?
Thanks,
B

You could try scanning against the SonicWall with our SNMP Tester (multiple tries with different options enabled): https://www.paessler.com/tools/snmptester to debug the device.

I ran the test to scan for available standard interfaces. Amongst all of the output there were these two lines.
268458755: (268458755) X2:V91,Connected,1 GBit/s,Layer 2 Virtual LAN using 802.1Q,, 64 Bit Test 268458755 (1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.6.268458755,1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.10.268458755): in= out=
So I know it can see it. For the local ports it shows the in and out, but not for any of the vlan interfaces.
I'm going to pass this information to SonicWall to see if I can get a more accurate response from them.
Thanks for the help!

You could try (just for a test) enabling the "Force 32bit" option in the tester. That might give you a result.

Gave the "Force 32bit a try and got the same results. SonicWall has passed my situation from desktop to research and testing. I'll post what they say when I get this resolved.
Thanks for the help! I really appreciate it.

Has anyone found a solution to this? I'm having the exact same problem tracking SNMP bandwith on a "Layer 2 Virtual LAn using 802.1Q" interface. It shows as "OK", but no traffice is logged.
I'm using a SonicWALL e5500 (enhanced firmware).

Did anyone ever get anywhere with this? I'm having the same issues with the VLAN interfaces on a SonicWALL supermassive.

We are still working on testing this with our NSA 3500. Sorry this is taking a while but we will post the results as soon as we know them.

With the NSA3500 that we have here in the office we created a VLAN and then created an SNMP Traffic Sensor for the VLAN interface and so far the results look fine. We are currently running the Firmware Version: SonicOS Enhanced 5.8.1.12-65o.

Hello,
do you know if the interface numbers for the vlan interface change? But the sensor shows traffic in the "first 24hours"?
best regards.
