Hi,
I'm using this great to test and validate SNMP v1 to v3 access, and the result of a get on the specific OID sysObjectID/1.3.6.1.2.1.1.2.0 do not return any result ? It's working for many other OIDs with this software, and this sysObjID return a value for the tested devices with another software.
Can you tell me if this this a know issue ? Could it be fix ?
Regards.

Hi,
Yes :"It's working for many other OIDs with this software, and this sysObjID return a value for the tested devices with another software." The comparative testing software is NetworkScanner from SoftPerfect.
Bye.

hallo,
what device are you scanning against?
did you try the single get, force 32bit options in the tester yet?

Hi,
Devices tested was :
. Cisco / WS-C3560-48PS / 12.2(55)SE1
. Entearsys / B2H124-48P / 4.02.12.0006
. HPN / E3500yl-24G / K.15.04.0003
I just test it with 32bit and single get without any change, anytime :
----------------------- New Test ----------------------- Paessler SNMP Tester 3.2 Device: 172.21.0.x 16/05/2011 14:10:25 (7 ms) : Start using SNMP V1 16/05/2011 14:10:25 (15 ms) : ------- 16/05/2011 14:10:25 (17 ms) : Value: 16/05/2011 14:10:25 (19 ms) : Done
Using Netscan SysoObjID result :
. Cisco 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.564
. Enterasys 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.2.2.318
. HP 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.3.7.11.58

What type of value is this OID supposed to return? Certain return values, such as tables, double-index and trap values are not compatible with SNMP Tester.

hi,
The result is only an "OID" as already shown inmy past message: . Cisco 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.564 . Enterasys 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.2.2.318 . HP 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.3.7.11.58
I just try on a Fortigate 60 and the result is the same, but i do a packet capture and the get-response is send by the device. "1.3.6.1.2.1.1.2.0: 1.3.6.1.4.1.12356.600 (iso.3.6.1.4.1.12356.600)"
Have you tried it by yourself ?

What are your results if you walk the 1.3.6.1.4.1.4242 base? Does it list underlying OIDs?

Hi,
Sorry but i don't understand your last post, i do not have such vendor in my devices so i can't read (snmp-walk) this private OID. According to http://www.iana.org/assignments/enterprise-numbers OID 4242 is : 4242 The Clorox Company Paul Rarey Paul.Rarey&Clorox.com
