hello we have two failover cisco asa 5510 ( with active - standby settings) and we monitor interface traffic with prtg v 13 when one of the firewalls changes roles, then we lose monitoring on the new device it seems interface ID changes during the change of firewall roles. when we rescan the device, prtg finds new interfaces. how can we prevent this problem? thank you very much for your KB-Post. I'm very much afraid though, this will be very tricky to tackle if indeed the ifindex of the interfaces are different. As both ASAs are technically running, both will have an uptime significantly over 0 seconds. And as the uptime is used in PRTG to detect changes on devices that are monitored by PRTG, this detection won't be triggered here.
The only solution we see, is that both ASAs have the exact same configuration.
