The XenServer probe is neat, however does not seem to work properly when there are several XenServers configured in a pool.
Currently when in a pool, the PRTG sensor allows you to monitor the VMs on the pool master only. When you try to create a sensor for a XenServer that is a member of a pool but not its master you get an error (probably because the XenServer is trying to redirect requests to the pool master).
So currently there is no way to see a list of VMs running on physical Xen hosts in a pool if they are not the pool master.

Dear Support Team,
I was hoping to find out if you were any closer to XenServer Guest VM monitoring via a Pool? i.e. Will we be able to continue to monitor inter-host migrated servers without alert such as is possible with VCenter?
Many thanks,
Ben

Xen-Pool monitoring is actually possible (in an "experimental state") in the PRTG 9 Beta. Please feel fry to give it a test-drive!

Hi,
Has this been resolved? I have setup sensors for my pool but it only shows the VM's running on the pool master, not any of the other members.
Thanks

We are looking into this, please bear with us. Currently we can't reproduce the issue with PRTG 9, but we will also have the Xen-Sensors improved in near future release.
