Is there any particular reason that a disk failure will only show as a yellow warning rather than a red alert? This is really quite bugging me

Hello,

mey I ask which exact sensor type your are using respectively referring to?

best regards.

A disk became "unconfigured bad" in the array, while I am aware it is not a failure, it is no longer part of the array and it is quite a worry

The sensor is a: "VMware Host Hardware Status (SOAP)". It shows up as red for disks that have completely failed(become unresponsive), but doesn't "alert" for disks that have dropped out of an array(leaving it degraded)

hello what error message do you see in your vSphere Client when you log on directly to the server.

PRTG should display the same errors.

I actually can't remember what it was I'm afraid(we pulled the machine out straight away). Does PRTG only relay the messages from machine itself? I.E it will only show what you would see in the vsphere client?

We've had failed disks before, but I'm slightly worried that an "unconfigured bad" disk is only a warning, when(in my eyes) it should throw a "red alert" error for any damage to the array. Is there a way I can change the settings?

right, The Host Hardware (Soap) sensor will only display what you would see in the vSphere Client as well

Perfect, thank you for that, I will attempt to tailor the vsphere settings
