Hello,

I am trying to setup a sensor (using the SSL cert sensor - perhaps that is my issue) to check the expiration and status of a wildcard certificate. I know I have the correct address and port, but the sensor just reads as down.

Socket Error #11001 - Host not found.

Sounds like your probe server cant look up the DNS name. Does a ping sensor work on that device?

Hello msagrillo,

Make sure you put the sensor on a device with a valid hostname/ip where the certificate is located for the connection to work. For example on www.paessler.com we also have a wildcard certificate "*.paessler.com" in place. In order to check it with the SSL sensor, you have to add a device with hostname "paessler.com" in PRTG.
