Hello, We are running our vmWare Farm in "green mode". So we have activated the DRS and PowerManagement option so that if not needed, vCenter decide to put in standby ESXi Hypervisor.

The problem is that as soon as vCenter decide this, PRTG send an alert as the host is not responding which is normal.

Question : is there a solution or do someone get an idea on how to put the host in "Pause mode" in PRTG and switch it back on as soon as the server is restarted ?

Hi,

You could exchange your PING sensor with the PingWarning sensor made by PRTG Tools Family (http://www.prtgtoolsfamily.com/downloads/sensors). If your ESX hosts go to standby the sensor will switch to warning state and pause all other sensors on the host. If you do this you will not get an error but a warning.

Edit: See corrected statement below.

I'm afraid we need to correct the statement, since this will not work. Dependencies only work with error/down state. Sorry for the confusion.

Kind regards,

Erhard
