I've managed to add in my HP P2000 and it added the SNMP senors but 5 minites later I started seeing loads of these errors:

Socket Closed - Cannot receive data or Socket error on connecting. WSAGetLastError return 10060($274C) A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.

Its entered the P2000 username\password in for the senors, checked the GUI of the P2000 etc

Hi itian, the error 10060 means there was a timeout on tcp level while trying to establish the connection.

Please

  • add a ping sensor first to check general connectivity from the prtg probe to your device.
  • If this works please check if the SNMP Port is reachable
  • If these also work please check your timeout settings, maybe your device just answers too slow.
